In Ashtanga Yoga, we do some pretty difficult asanas. The twists, binds, and bends that we perform daily will not just bring you physical mobility, stability, and longevity. They are also sure to help you face mental obstacles and tear down emotional barriers. After 8 months of daily asana practice using the Ashtanga method, I can say without a doubt that I’ve never been able to find more consistency, balance, and stamina from my yoga practice. And while I’ve become stronger, the poses I practice only get harder. Still, the hardest part remains showing up at the top of my mat and re-training the maladaptive mental patterns that have been engrained in my behaviors for years.
